Comfort behaviour

A healthy chicken is recognised by its flawless plumage and a well perfused comb and waddle. To keep the plumage in good order it is essential for the bird to practice good comfort behaviour. This includes grooming with beak and claws, buffeting and stretching of the wings and body as well as dust bathing and sun bathing.
