Reproductive behaviour

Barn fowl lives polygamous. The courtship of the cock is limited to behaviour patterns of the initiation of mating. The most common form of courtship is the approach of the cock from behind towards the hen, or the attraction of the hen with sounds or collateral approach. Subsequently copulation follows at which the cock mounts the crouching hen. The cloacae are compressed until ejaculation, whereupon the cock and the hen go seperate ways.
