Roll  off nests versus natural behaviour of hens

In the natural behaviour of chicken during egg deposition, the hen stands up right after laying her egg. Then she rolls the egg underneath her with the beak just to sit on top of it again. Generally the hen stays several moments on top of the fresh layed egg and then leaves the nest. However, in the roll off nests the eggs roll off on to the egg belt when the hen gets up. Thereby the hen cannot fullfill her species-specific behaviour.
