General environmental requirements

Species-appropriate husbandry and demand-oriented feed provision are part of preventive animal health care!

  • Daylight
  • Littered, dry lying area, important: draft-free and dry!
  • Air space: at least 6 to 8 m3 for a dry pen climate
  • Sufficiently large pen area per goat, dependent on the number of goats and the pen structure
  • Avoid dead ends, allow ventilation
  • Separate, elevated feeding place (two-compartment pen)
  • Drinking troughs
  • Keep goats on pasture during summer months; allow permanent access to outdoor run
