Feather pecking and cannibalism: This is an especially problematic behavioural disorder, whereat the birds peck selectively against the plumage and/or body parts of fellow birds. The causes of feather pecking and cannibalism can in parts be tracked back to the same reasons. They are complex and often not dependent from one single factor only. That is what makes it so difficult to take measures. It can be found in all husbandry systems.
