Early rearing period/breeding

Wheather or not the birds are able to get along well in their later husbandry systems, depends on the early rearing conditions. The rearing practice should be specifically fitted to the deep litter, aviary or free-range systems, so that the birds will not develop serious difficulties in adapting after being moved from the rearing farm. The barn must be adjusted to the needs of the chicks during the first days of life, which is usually achieved with simple technical management arrangements.
