Feeding

Rabbits are very susceptible to digestive tract diseases. Feeding mistakes may promote or even cause such problems. The following should be considered:

Demand-oriented feed provision (adapted to age and performance)
- e.g. weaning feed for young animals
Permanent access to roughage of good quality (no sole feeding of concentrate)
Feed in perfect condition (without contamination etc.)
No abrupt diet changes, but gradual changes so that the sensitive microflora of the gut can adapt
