General requirements

Contact to conspecifics

Rabbits are social animals. They should, whenever possible, have contact to conspecifics. Rabbits should only be housed individually, once aggressive interactions occurring with the developing sexual maturity impair their welfare. If rabbits have to be housed individually, they should have at least sight contact to conspecifics.
