Tethering: Goats have a natural urge to move a lot and to groom themselves. Tethering restricts these behaviours and thus should be avoided.
Tethering of goats is legally prohibited in Austria but not regulated in Germany. In Switzerland, building of new tie stalls is prohibited.
Tethering is not permitted in organic goat farming.
