General environmental requirements
Species-appropriate husbandry and demand-oriented feed provision are part of preventive animal health care!
- Daylight
- Littered, dry lying area, important: draft-free and dry!
- Air space: at least 6 to 8 m3 for a dry pen climate
- Sufficiently large pen area per goat, dependent on the number of goats and the pen structure
- Avoid dead ends, allow ventilation
- Separate, elevated feeding place (two-compartment pen)
- Drinking troughs
- Keep goats on pasture during summer months; allow permanent access to outdoor run
