Livestock management
A successful owner of laying hens knows how to manage his flock and:
-
writes down the daily feed and drinking water consumption
- keeps records about the animals in the barn
- distinguishes according to the laying perfomance
- keeps records about the loss of animals and possible causes
- weighs some animals of the flock regularly (approx. 30-40 animals), younger animals weekly
- observes his/her animals and recognises behavioural disorders and tries to find the cause in order to eliminate it
- uses scoring methods for the evaluation of the plumage condition
- preheats the barns before bringing in new animals.
