Feeding behaviour

Goats are ruminants and undemanding albeit selective in their food choices. They often ingest only particular plant parts. Although goats feed on a broad spectrum of plants, they prefer leaf tips, buds, and flush of dicots over grasses. Their very flexible upper lips allow them to bite off selected parts from thorny plants.
