Successful hygiene management comprises:
  • Hygiene locks
  • Avoiding purchase of animals from different sources
  • All-In-All-Out production, if possible
  • Disinfection of the whole barn equipment between batches
  • Easily cleanable or exchangeable materials (enclosure and equipment)
  • Adding and renewal of litter, respectively, to avoid wet spots and accumulation of manure
  • Rodent and pest control
