General requirements

Sufficient space allowance

Adequate floor space and enclosure heights are essential for species-specific locomotion patterns such as hopping, running, and jumping, as well as for body postures such as stretching, lying with the legs stretched out, or rearing.

A fattening rabbit needs, for instance, a minimum height of 50 cm for a jump. All rabbits should be able to lie outstretched at the same time. In addition, the housing system should allow several consecutive jumps.
