Housing of bucks

Pair or group housing of several adult bucks is not feasible as they will show injurious fighting. Therefore, bucks are usually kept individually. They should be housed in structured enclosures larger than conventional ‘battery cages’, which are still widely used in many parts of Europe.

 

 

Bucks are rarely kept together with group-housed breeding does, and if at all, then usually only for a limited time (for mating).
